This work is full of healing techniques from various wisdom cultures around the world that have helped keep people sane for thousands of years. To refer to the "unseen" world, I use the word "energy " a lot, and encourage clients to engage with me, question me, suss me out! Awareness of privilege and target groups is of utmost importance in my work. Let's talk about race and class and gender! With regards to psychology training, my studies include a range of Western psychological theories as well as alternative therapies and spiritual perspectives. We can incorporate spirituality into our work in whatever way feels best to you. My Bachelor Degree is in Media Studies, focusing on the effect different media have on society. Understanding our relationship with media is essential in this day and age (especially for teens). Having traveled abroad and lived in vastly different cultures, I am fortunate to be able to work with people from all walks of life and am respectful of many ways of being on this planet. For therapy to be effective, it is crucial for your therapist to earn your trust. As part of my commitment to that integrity, I go to therapy myself whenever needed, am regularly working on my own "stuff" and am honored to learn from each client I am fortunate to meet. |
